Franka ist freie Animationskünstlerin und Dozentin im Bereich Bewegtbild. Sie schreibt Drehbücher, führt Regie, animiert und entwickelt die visuellen Konzepte für ihre Filme. Ihr Werk umfasst acht animierte Kurzfilme und die Mitarbeit an einem langen experimentellen Dokumentarfilm. Drei weitere Kurzfilme und ein Langfilm befinden sich in verschiedenen Stadien der Produktion. Seit längerer Zeit konzentriert sich ihre Arbeit im Bereich analoger Techniken wie Lege- und Zeichentrick. Thematisch setzt sie sich sowohl mit zwischenmenschlichen Beziehungen und ambivalenten Gefühlen, sowie mit der Bedeutung von Texturen, Strukturen und Farben auseinander. Sie engagiert sich im Weimar Animation Club und im Vorstand der AG Animationsfilm für den Nachwuchs. In der Dunkelheit performt sie ihre bewegten Bilder live als VJ Loov mit verschiedenen Soundkünstler*innen, Musiker*innen und DJs.
Franka is an independent animation artist and lecturer in the field of moving image. She writes scripts, directs, animates and develops the visual concepts for her films. Her work includes eight animated short films and a collaboration on a feature-length experimental documentary. Three further short films and a feature-length film are in various stages of production. For some time now, her work has concentrated on analogue techniques such as cutout and traditional animation. Thematically, she deals with interpersonal relationships and ambivalent feelings, as well as with the meaning of textures, structures and colours. To support the next generation of filmmakers she is involved in the Weimar Animation Club and on the board of the AG Animationsfilm. In the dark, she performs her moving images live as VJ Loov with various sound artists, musicians and DJs.
